Know what to expect before you begin.

Seeking answers can feel both hopeful and overwhelming. We believe families deserve clear, honest communication throughout the evaluation process.

Here’s what you can expect—from your first conversation through your final recommendations.

Start with a conversation

First, let’s make sure we’re the right fit.

Request a consultation and we’ll schedule a complimentary 15-minute conversation to hear what’s bringing you in, answer your initial questions, and learn more about what you’re hoping to understand.

If an evaluation makes sense, we’ll talk through the recommended next step, including the anticipated scope and fees, before the formal evaluation begins.

Tell us about your child

You know your child in a way no test ever could.

The formal evaluation begins with a detailed parent or caregiver interview. We’ll talk about your child’s development, history, strengths, challenges, and the concerns that led you to seek an evaluation.

This conversation typically lasts about 60–90 minutes and helps us understand the broader context surrounding your child—not just the question that brought you in.

Build the right evaluation

Every child is different. Their evaluation should be, too.

Rather than putting every child through the same fixed set of tests, we build an individualized evaluation around your child and the questions we’re working to answer.

We use evidence-based assessment tools to explore the areas that are most relevant, while also looking beyond a single assumed diagnosis when the bigger picture calls for it.

Testing & information gathering

We bring together more than test scores.

Your child will complete individualized testing in our office. Depending on their age, needs, and the evaluation, testing may take place in one day or be spread across multiple appointments.

You may also complete questionnaires through our secure, HIPAA-compliant portal. With your permission, we may also gather relevant records or input from schools, healthcare providers, or others who know your child well.

Bringing these perspectives together helps us develop a more complete understanding of your child’s strengths, challenges, and everyday experiences.

We connect the dots

The goal is to understand the whole child.

Once the evaluation is complete, we carefully review the testing, history, records, and other information we’ve gathered.

We look at how the pieces fit together—striving to provide a clear diagnosis while capturing the broader picture—so the findings are both clinically meaningful and useful to your family.

Understand the findings and what comes next

You won’t just receive a report and be sent on your way.

We’ll meet with you for a feedback session to walk through the findings, explain what they mean, answer your questions, and review your written report.

Our goal is to help you leave with meaningful diagnostic clarification, a deeper understanding of your child’s strengths and challenges, and clear recommendations for the path forward.

When appropriate, we can also help point you toward trusted providers and resources for additional support.

A roadmap, not just a diagnosis.

A diagnosis is valuable, but it’s only one part of understanding your child.

Our goal is to translate complex clinical information into clear, practical insights your family can use at home, at school, and when making decisions about future support.

Because your family deserves a roadmap, not just a diagnosis.

Three-Month Follow-Up

We know that children are always changing and growing. Our three-month follow-up provides families with an opportunity to reconnect, review progress, and consider how your child’s needs may have evolved since the initial evaluation.

Ready to take the first step?

You don’t need to know exactly what kind of evaluation your child needs before reaching out.

Start with a complimentary 15-minute conversation. We’ll listen to what you’re seeing, answer your initial questions, and help determine the right next step.
